About Nick Goode
With 19 years in the financial services industry, I’ve learned that work I do with people changes their lives. I truly enjoy getting to know what’s important to my clients, understanding their values, helping them make decisions that serve them well.
Prior to starting Vantage Point Planning®, I was an advisor at Center for Wealth Planning Advisors, a financial services rep at State Farm VP Management Corp, and a licensed insurance agent at a privately owned insurance agency.
I earned my BBA degree in Finance from Walsh College of Accountancy & Business Administration in Troy, Michigan, and am currently enrolled in the CFP® curriculum through the College for Financial Planning in Denver, Colorado.
When I’m not working with clients, you’ll find me making memories with my family, smoking meats, appreciating good coffee, nerding out over two-channel audio, and riding bmx bikes.
Why Physicians & Musicians?
It may seem like a strange pairing, but the journeys physicians and musicians undertake actually have quite a bit in common.
Both have worked very hard over many years to find success. They’ve overcome many difficult challenges in their training and early careers. They finish what they start. When they finally find success, they experience a sudden and dramatic increase in income — which means they have to make decisions they’ve never had to make before. This is usually the point at which they search for a financial advisor.
Of course, I also have personal reasons for helping physicians and musicians. I have several family members in the medical community so I know firsthand some of the challenges they face. And some of my earliest memories involve my love of listening to music. This spark of joy from music and movies was my path to becoming an audiophile.
It’s a true pleasure for me to help my clients in medicine and music.
What Makes Me Different?
There are lots of financial advisors out there. Why should you choose me?
Many firms’ only criteria for working with them is that you have assets to manage. Each financial advisor may work with hundreds of clients at a time. These firms tend to provide investment management only and often do not focus on personalized financial planning.
I built Vantage Point Planning® to provide the highest level of care and service to all the families I serve. In order to make sure I’m available when you need help, I’ve limited the number of relationships to 80 families. This allows me to focus completely on helping you and your family so you can remain confident that you will continue to receive the personal attention and care you deserve.
The client community I’m building is filled with caring, creative, intelligent, motivated, dedicated, and loving people. The work I do for these families is not a job or temporary stop on a corporate career ladder. Without trying to sound too dramatic, this is my calling. I get to help people I deeply care about with some of the most important and meaningful aspects of their lives. We have a lot of fun working together and I look forward to each and every meeting and conversation. I’m grateful for the awesome relationships and being able to grow and learn with all of you.
